Famous Cities of the World : Copenhagen

Copenhagen is set during World War II, when the friendship of two Nobel Prize-winning physicists is tested by the prospect of providing Nazi Germany with the atomic bomb. A mysterious visit by Werner Heisenberg to Niels Bohr's home in Copenhagen in 1941 brings these renowned physicists and dear friends together under trying circumstances and leads to an argument whose consequences may determine the fate of nations. Copenhagen is the right place to visit because that is where the story originated. You can also see other great sites in Copenhagen such as the famous Church of Our Savior which allows Copenhagen tourists to climb to the peak of the church where a fantastic view of the city of Copenhagen can be enjoyed. Copenhagen is not like that. Compared to many other cities, I think Copenhagen is accommodating and good at welcoming visitors."

Copenhagen is a fun place, and there’s a party somewhere 24/7. Stroget is a good place to start your evening, as street performers keep things lively on your way to a restaurant, cafe, or bar. Copenhagen is also another of Europe’s finest destinations for art and culture. The National Museum can be found in the centre of the city along with some of the key artifacts in Danish history. Copenhagen is capital of one of the oldest kingdoms in the world. All periods of our 1000 yearlong history are reflected in the streets, squares and buildings of our city. Copenhagen is actually almost right in the middle of Europe. You'll find it in the very east of Denmark, by the water. Copenhagen is the largest city in Scandinavia with a population of over 1.5 million. The city was officially founded in 1167 when Bishop Absalon ordered that a castle and a wall be put up around a small fishing village on the site where the Christiansborg Castle, home of the Danish Parliament, stands today.

Copenhagen is rated as one of the most livable cities in the world, with a rich cultural life, well developed infrastructure, and beautiful parks and waterfront. Copenhagen is an expensive place to live when the value of the dollar is weak against the Danish kroner, as it has been recently. Copenhagen is a vibrant, modern capital whose fascinating past coexists with the very latest trends in architecture, design and fashion. This is, after all, one of the world's great design capitals, a status that’s reflected in its dynamic new buildings and stunning shops.

Copenhagen is the World's leading city when it comes to offering its residents and visitors the highest life quality. The city leaves most other cities behind because of its development in architecture, design and gourmet food. Also the Copenhagen's public transportation, bicycle culture, harbor baths, green public spaces and trendy cafes contribute to a high quality of life. Copenhagen is also a nice city to shop and club in and there are plenty of opportunities for trips in Denmark and Southern Sweden. Copenhagen is vying for the title of the western world's best bike city. About 40 per cent of trips made by residents are on bike.
